SISAL & MANILA ROPES

Natural fiber rope is made from a range of materials such as sisal, coir, manila, hemp, flax fibers or cotton. The fibers are twisted into yarns and then these yarns are turned in the opposite direction to create the strands.

Our manila ropes are manufactured from grade A fiber and are manufactured in the Philippines where the highest grade fiber is produced. Manufactured to Australian standards with certificates on request. Manila fiber is regarded a higher quality fiber than sisal. Is has a large range of applications including outdoor uses where a natural fiber rope is required in addition to architectural uses where a decorative and high quality natural fiber rope is required.

Sisal ropes are available a a lower cost option to manila and suit a wide variety of industrial applications. Sisal ropes are a lighter color than manila and can be easily dyed to suit some decorative applications.

Both types of rope, manila or sisal, are similar in weight and have the same safe working load. However, sisal is more prone to absorbing moisture as compared to manila and hence deteriorates faster. Both can be treated to extend life.

Cotton ropes are available and are a highly decorative, soft fiber. Twisted, braided and plaited constructions for your convenience.
